What does it mean to create a font pairing?

To create a font pairing you have to put certain fonts together to create a harmony within your project. This means you have to find different fonts that work together.

What are the four assignments you chose to do? Write the name of the assignment and describe your design for each.

The first assignment I chose was assignment 4 which was to create a font pairing using a famous quote. My design for this was to make it feel like your reading an ad for a concert venue. My second assignment I chose was assignment 7 which was these are the good old days. The fonts I used for this one gave it a more older feel. The third assignment I chose was assignment 1 which was, what comes easy wont last. My design for the was simple and easy because I used bold and all capital letters with thin and lower case letters. The last assignment I chose was assignment 8 which was, 26 letters endless possibilities. For this one I wanted it to feel like you were sitting at a desk writing something and I chose different fonts that paired really well together.

Which assignment would you say is your BEST font pairing and why?

I would say my best font pairing is my 26 letters endless possibilities assignment. I feel that it was my best because I chose certain fonts that went really well together and I liked my whole concept of the background and the saying.

Which assignment would you say is your Least Successful font pairing and why?

My font pairing that I thought was the least successful was the what comes easy wont last. I feel that it wasn’t successful because it was just to plain and simple. I could have been a little more creative with it and make it more interesting.

How would you describe the font pairing process? What makes a font pairing so difficult?

The font pairing process is very difficult because you have to keep downloading different fonts to see which ones pair the best together. For me I had to keep switching my fonts up because I

didn’t like the way some of them came out, so I was constantly changing my fonts to see which looked the best. The process is long because you have a lot of thinking to do, so you can approach the project with having an idea of how you want your assignments to turn out.
