Magazine Reflection Sheet
Miranda Zaransky
1. How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of Magazine Design and the parts of a magazine cover and interior?
My design demonstrates my knowledge of magazine design and the magazine cover and interior because both my partner and I worked together to come up with some sense of harmony and unity within both our designs, while still suing are twist on a few elements of the project.
2. In what ways does your magazine connect to the corporate identity of the magazine? What are some design queues that you used from the existing magazine?
My magazine cover I designed most definitely matches the corporate identity of Vogue. Some ways it shows that my design connects to the corporate identity of the magazine is that I used the same and or similar font style. Some design queues I used from the existing Vogue Magazine is that I had used similar placing with my cover lines to make it feel as if you were looking at a professionally designed Vogue Magazine.
3. How did completing the brainstorming packet and sketches affect your design process?
Overall, the brainstorming packet and sketched were somewhat helpful towards creating the final product. It didn’t really affect my design to much because I had changed my design so many times that it was going to look nothing like what I sketched.
4. How did you like working with a partner? How do you think working with a partner makes the design process easier and more difficult?
I did not really mind too much about working with a partner but personally if we got to choose then I would not work with one, for the reasons being. I have a very different taste when it comes to design and not everyone likes what I like. For sure it made the design process move along much quicker than normal.
5. Looking at your partner’s design, if you were to design your partner’s portion by yourself how would it look different? What would you have changed?
If I were to have made the inside it would have looked completely different. I would have changed the layout of my partners design just because it was not my style and it kind of needed more depth.
6. Describe the ideal partner (co-worker / co –designer)?
The ideal partner for a project like this in particular would be someone who is very simple and straight to the point with a design and idea. They also would really have to like a similar color scheme to the one I like. It would be hard to work with someone who has completely different views on something.
